Cinépolis India and Panorama Studios Forge Strategic Distribution Alliance for Delhi and UP
According to multiple trade outlets, Cinépolis India and Panorama Studios have locked in a strategic distribution partnership covering the Delhi & UP circuit — one of Hindi cinema's highest-yield territories by footfall and screen density.

Under the arrangement, films exclusively acquired or distributed by either entity will see joint distribution rollout in the region, effectively pooling exhibitor reach with distribution muscle to squeeze more revenue per release out of a fiercely competitive market.
Territory Play: Why Delhi & UP
The Delhi & UP circuit remains the single largest contributor to domestic box office grosses for mainstream Hindi releases, making it the most coveted territory rights grab for any distributor. By tying Cinépolis India's on-ground exhibitor footprint and audience data with Panorama Studios' distribution execution, the partnership creates a consolidated front in a region where screen allocation and release saturation directly dictate opening-weekend yields. For producers, this means a single negotiation point instead of fragmented territory deals — a structural efficiency that typically translates into wider screen counts and stronger per-screen averages for the right product.
Early Slate Signals the Model
The partnership isn't theoretical — it's already in play. Dhamaal 4, the multi-starrer comedy franchise entry headlined by Ajay Devgn, Riteish Deshmukh, Arshad Warsi, and Jaaved Jaaferi, and action-comedy Baby Do Die Do, featuring Huma Qureshi, Chunky Panday, and Sikandar Kher, were the first titles distributed under this arrangement. Upcoming releases include the animated mythological film Mahaprabhu Jagannath, which hit screens on 17 July, and spiritual drama Hanuman Ansh, slated for 31 July 2026. The slate's range — from franchise comedy to niche devotional content — suggests both parties are stress-testing the model across audience segments, not just banking on tentpole ROI.
What It Means for the Distribution Landscape
Murlidhar Chhatwani, Panorama Studios' CEO for Distribution & Syndication, has signalled intent to expand the collaboration into additional territories if results hold. That's the number to watch. If this Delhi & UP consolidation delivers measurable uplift in footfalls and per-screen yields compared to either party's solo track record, expect similar exhibitor-distributor tie-ups to proliferate across circuits. The theatrical business has been under sustained pressure from OTT erosion of the post-theatrical window; tighter distribution partnerships that maximise opening-week revenue are one of the few levers left to protect theatrical economics. Whether this model scales will depend on the lifetime grosses of the current slate — and those numbers won't be in for weeks.
